The Sun’s Kevin Brockway and Noah Ram discuss transfers in Florida basketball, football and UF’s softball showdown vs. Oklahoma with Ryan Aber of The Oklahoman.
From a dismal start to the 2025 season, Florida baseball has put itself in position to reach the NCAA Tournament for the 17th straight time under head coach Kevin O’Sullivan.
The Florida Gators (33-17, 11-13 SEC), coming off a sweep in its last SEC series at South Carolina, needs to continue to close the year strong with six games remaining in the regular season. After a three-game series at No. 1 Texas over the weekend, Florida will finish up regular season play with a three-game series at home against No. 16 Alabama from May 15-17.
Florida suffered a slight setback with a 7-1 home loss to USF on Tuesday but has still won 13 of its last 16 games. UF also has won 10 of its last 12 conference games after a 1-11 SEC start.
“I just want us to finish,” O’Sullivan said. “We’ve worked so hard to get back into it. Probably not a lot of people thought when we started off 1-11 that we would be in this position. So, but we have to finish. I feel good about this group.”
What is the Florida baseball RPI?
Per Warren Nolan Baseball, the Florida baseball RPI sits at No. 19 after sweeping South Carolina over the weekend and losing to USF on Tuesday night. UF’s record is 7-14 against Quad 1 opponents, 7-2 against Quad 2 opponents, 2-1 against Quad 3 opponents and 17-0 against Quad 4 opponents.
