ANAHEIM, Calif — In the finale of the Red Sox long, nine-game West Coast road trip, the team will try to snap a four-game losing streak and avoid being swept in the final series by the Los Angeles Angels.

A tough-luck, 10-inning loss Tuesday night left the Sox with a 3-5 mark through the first eight games.

Facing Angels lefty Yusei Kikuchi, the Red Sox will go with their righthanded lineup, with Rob Refsnyder in the customary leadoff spot. One change: Jarren Duran, who had been dropped to sixth against southpaws, has been elevated to second in the order.

For the second straight game, Marcelo Mayer is getting the start at second base. He made his debut there Tuesday night. Nate Eaton again gets the start at third base.

Roman Anthony has struggled mightily against lefthanded pitching with no hits in a dozen at-bats and seven strikeouts, so he’s not in Wednesday’s lineup.

As the Red Sox attempt to snap a four-game losing streak, consider this statistical oddity: The Red Sox have never won a game in which Richard Fitts appeared, going 0-9 between last season and this.
