2025 will be the third year that MLB will hold a lottery for its top 10 picks.
Sixteen teams are eligible, including the Cubs.
Here are the details:
The Draft Lottery will take place next Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 4:30 p.m. CT during the Baseball Winter Meetings in Dallas and will be carried live on MLB Network and streamed on MLB.com.
The Lottery will determine the order in which Clubs will make the top six selections of the 2025 MLB Draft. The following 16 Clubs will participate in the Draft Lottery:
Well, I said the Cubs have a chance. 0.7 percent isn’t much of a chance, but the Cleveland Guardians got the top pick in the 2024 Draft with just a 2 percent chance, so who knows? Of course, we’ll cover that here as part of BCB’s Winter Meetings coverage. The Winter Meetings begin Sunday.
The 2025 MLB Draft will begin on July 13, 2025, in Atlanta as part of MLB’s All-Star Week festivities.
