Mayor Craig Greenberg honored Assumption softball and Trinity baseball Tuesday morning at his weekly press conference.Assumption and Trinity both won state titles on June 14.Greenberg invited both teams up on stage during his press conference to congratulate them on a great season.“Made us all proud throughout Louisville with their work, with their dedication by literally stepping up to the plate and delivering performances in their sports that made history for their schools and for our city,” Greenberg said.The coaches of both teams spoke at the conference as well. Both spoke about the dedication it took from players, coaches and family members to make the championships happen.This was Assumption’s seventh state softball championship title, and their first in fastpitch softball.This marked Trinity’s second baseball state championship.
