It’s time for Game 2 of the series between the San Francisco Giants and the Miami Marlins, and after Tuesday’s bland loss, the Giants will be hoping to bounce back and even the series.
The good news is that they’re sending their ace to the mound, as righty Logan Webb heads to the bump for his 17th start of the year. Webb has been sensational this year, posting a 7-5 record with a 2.49 ERA, an NL-best 2.22 FIP, and 114 strikeouts against 20 walks in 101.1 innings. The All-Star frontrunner is on a tear over his last four starts, giving up just five runs in 28 innings during that time.
On the other side is righty Edward Cabrera, a five-year veteran in the midst of arguably his best season. In 12 starts this year, Cabrera is 2-2 with a 3.81 ERA, a 3.91 FIP, and 63 strikeouts to 26 walks in 59 innings. He was stellar his last time out, allowing just one run in 6.1 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Enjoy the game, everyone. Go Giants!
