In order to make room on the active roster, the Dodgers optioned right-hander Will Klein to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Garcia joined the team in Colorado, so his activation was expected as manager Dave Roberts confirmed that would be the case. The right-hander was dealing with a right-adductor strain, which landed him on the 15-day injured list.

He made one rehab start with Class-A Rancho Cucamonga on June 22, where he tossed a scoreless inning in nine pitches.

The Dodgers signed Garcia to minor league deal in February. The veteran is sporting a 4.50 ERA with 23 strikeouts and 1.692 WHIP across 26 innings pitched.

The Dodgers bullpen currently leads the league in innings pitched with 354 on the season. As a collective, the group has posted a 4.27 ERA this season.

Klein pitched two innings in relief Wednesday, recording three strikeouts and issuing one walk. The right-hander was traded to the Dodgers in a rare pitcher-for-pitcher trade. The Dodgers sent minor league pitcher Joe Jacques to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for Klein.

Klein made his first Major League appearance of the season on June 21, allowing no runs on one hit against the Washington Nationals.
