Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Richard Lovelady was done dirty by the New York Mets yesterday as they DFA’d the pitcher in a rough way.

Former Blue Jays pitcher Richard Lovelady DFA’d by the Mets after only 1 inning

The Mets announced that they decided to DFA Lovelady yesterday, only two days after they signed the veteran pitcher as he has now been DFA’d three times this season.

Lovelady was not the only pitcher the Mets decided to DFA yesterday as Jose Castillo also faced the same fate.

The Mets have designated José Castillo and Richard Lovelady for assignment

The Mets only kept Lovelady for 1.2 innings as they he finished his made only one apperance and it looks like New York saw enough there and did not want to keep him after that which seems quite rough.

While Lovelady did not have a great performance giving up 1 hit and 2 earned runs in 1.2 innings pitched, it seems a little rough to give him such little time on the mound then deciding to get rid of him.

Richard Lovelady is on for his Mets debut in the 7th inning

When you get added to the Mets roster, you’re Dicky Lovelady. You’re a friend. You’re a pal.

But when you get DFAed, you’re Richard Lovelady. You’re a stranger. You’re nobody.

This has been an extremely tough season for Lovelady who simply cannot seem to find a permanent home and will likely clear waivers in the coming days and will once again be a free agent.
