Noelvi Marte to Play Five Rehab Games in a Row

Cincinnati Reds third baseman Noelvi Marte (oblique) went 0-for-4 in his first rehab game with Double-A Chattanooga on Wednesday. That will be the first of five rehab games in a row for Marte, according to Charlie Clifford of NBC 5 Cincinnati. Marte has been on the 10-day injured list with a strained left oblique since May 7. The 23-year-old got off to an effective start before then, hitting .294/.342/.515 with three home runs, 17 RBI, 10 runs scored, and four steals in 73 plate appearances. The Reds haven’t found a solution at the hot corner in Marte’s absence, meaning he should receive plenty of playing time when he comes back.–Connor Byrne
