ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The Atlanta Braves and Make-A-Wish Foundation will team up Friday to make a young Braves fan’s wish come true.
Owen Kincaid, a 14-year-old from Buchanan, Georgia, has a hypoplastic left heart; the left side of his heart did not full develop. There is no cure, but treatment can buy time until a patient receives a heart transplant.
Kincaid is a Braves fan and wants to meet some of the players, get autographs. He named Ronald Acuna Jr. as his favorite player, as well as Matt Olson, Austin Riley and Ozzie Albies.
The teen has channeled his love for baseball onto the field. He tried out for and made an 8th-grade baseball team; he will play second base on one squad and be an assistant coach on another.
