CLEVELAND, Ohio — This is a preview of the three-game series between the Guardians and Cardinals that starts Friday night.

Where: Progressive Field, Friday at 7:10 p.m.

TV/radio: Apple TV+ will do Friday’s game. CLEGuardians.TV will televise Saturday’s game and ROKU will televise Sunday’s game. WTAM 1100, WMMS 100.7 FM, WARF and the Guardians radio network will carry the series.

Probable starting pitchers and start times: RHP Luis Ortiz (4-8, 4.30) vs. RHP Sonny Gray (7-2, 3.72) Friday at 7:10 p.m.; RHP Slade Cecconi (3-3, 3.38) vs. RHP Miles Mikolas (4-5, 4.31) Saturday at 4:10 p.m. and LHP Logan Allen (5-5, 4.25) vs. LHP Matthew Liberatore (5-6, 3.96) Sunday at 12:05 p.m.

Series: The Cardinals went 2-1 against the Guardians last year. Cleveland leads, 23-16, overall.

Cardinals update (44-38): They lost their series finale to the Cubs on Thursday, but have still won seven of their last 10 games. Last year Lars Nootbar hit .400 (2 for 5) against the Guardians. Mikolas went 1-0 against the Guardians last year, allowing one earned run in six innings.

Guardians update (40-39): They lost their season finale against the Blue Jays on Thursday and have lost six of their last 11 games. Jose Ramirez hit .417 (5 for 12) with two homers and five RBI against St. Louis last year. Lane Thomas hit .250 (2 for 8) with a homer last year against his old team.

Cardinals: RF Jordan Walker (appendicitis), C-DH Ivan Herrera (left hamstring) and LHP Zack Thompson (left calf) are on the injured list.

Guardians: RHP Andrew Walters (right lat), RHP Ben Lively (right elbow), OF Will Brennan (left forearm), RHP Paul Sewald (right shoulder), RHP Shane Bieber (right elbow), RHP Trevor Stephan (right elbow), LHP John Means (left elbow), LHP Sam Hentges (left shoulder) and LHP Erik Sabrowski (left elbow) are on the injured list. RHP Cade Smith (back spasms) and 3B Ramirez (right forearm) is day to day.
