The first round of All-Star voting results was released this week, and Hunter Goodman was not named as a finalist to start at catcher for the NL. That honor went to Will Smith of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Carson Kelly of the Chicago Cubs. Goodman is currently sitting in fourth with 651,355 votes — 93,000 votes behind the Phillies’ J.T. Realmuto.

Goodman — who is day-to-day with hamstring tightness — has been a bright spot in the abysmal 2025 Colorado Rockies campaign. As of Wednesday, Goodman leads the team with his .287/.332/.512 triple slash, as well as in doubles (17), home runs (14), and RBI (48). Regarding RBIs, the next-highest is 28, co-owned by Jordan Beck and Michael Toglia.

He is the Rockies’ most-likely All-Star candidate, and perhaps could even be a candidate for the Home Run Derby. Jake Bird is also still a possibility, as his 2.62 ERA leads the bullpen (and the entire pitching corps) and his 1.28 WHIP is third behind Victor Vodnik (1.19) and Juan Mejia (1.25), but he has pitched 20 more innings than either of them. The pitching competition is going to be tighter, so vote for Goodman!
