BOSTON — Abraham Toro will bat third in the Red Sox lineup Saturday despite a two-week slump.
The Red Sox will try to end a losing streak that reached six games when they lost 9-0 to Toronto on Friday. Boston managed just four hits.
Toro is 9-for-51 (.176) with a .236 on-base percentage, .275 slugging percentage, one homer, two doubles and three RBIs in five games dating back to June 9. His line has dropped from .333/.352/.563/.915 to .278/.307/.459/.766 during the slump.
Carlos Narváez is back behind the plate and batting cleanup after a day off Friday.
Roman Anthony will bat second and serve as the DH. Nick Sogard is at second base and Romy Gonzalez will play first base.
Boston is 3-7 since trading Rafael Devers on June 15, dropping to three games under .500 (40-43).
