In his first season of power four baseball, LSU infielder Daniel Dickinson is making a strong impression on MLB scouts. Dickinson landed No. 66 on MLB.com’s latest draft prospect ranking.
Scouts note his impressive transition from a walk-on at Utah Valley for two years to playing SEC baseball at LSU as a junior. He earned appearances for Team USA and a spot in the Cape Cod league for summer baseball. He’s among the Tigers’ best hitters heading into the postseason.
Batting .327, Dickinson has 55 hits and 40 RBI in 2025. His .479 on-base percentage is tied for sixth in the SEC as he sees the ball well and induces walks often. Despite his exceptional hand-eye coordination and control of the strike zone, Dickinson’s lack of raw power concerns scouts as he makes the change from metal to wood bats at the professional level.
LSU’s everyday second baseman, Dickinson will likely stay at the position in the minor leagues. He has a .979 fielding percentage with just three errors in 2025, but also logged time at shortstop, third base, and left field throughout his career.
