For the second time this week on their road trip, the Dodgers are delayed by rain. This time, it’s before the start of Sunday’s series finale against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.

The Royals announced the anticipated start time for Sunday’s game would be 2:10 p.m. CT (12:10 p.m. PT). The originally-scheduled first pitch was 1:10 p.m CT (11:10 a.m PT).

Weather forecasts in the area call for thunderstorms between 1-2 p.m. CT, but mostly just cloudy after that.

Stephen Nelson, who is calling the game for SportsNet LA, posted that word at the stadium was an expected delay between 45 minutes and one hour, and shared this ominous picture from the ballpark.

The Dodgers were also delayed by rain on Wednesday at Coors Field against the Rockies. But that weather interruption came in the top of the sixth inning, and after the 87-minute delay the floodgates opened for the Dodgers offense in a rout of Colorado.

Sunday is the Dodgers’ fifth rain delay of the season, so far all on the road:

May 3 at Braves: start of game delayed three hours, six minutes

May 23 at Mets: top of third inning delayed by one hour, 38 minutes

June 6 at Cardnals: start of game delayed by one hour, 17 minutes

June 25 at Rockies: top of sixth inning delayed by one hour, 27 minutes
