Missouri baseball added former South Carolina first baseman and outfielder Jase Woita out of the transfer portal, he announced Friday on Instagram.

The Lincoln, Nebraska, product spent one season with the Gamecocks. He hit .300 with five doubles, six home runs, 20 RBI and 21 runs scored.

Prior to his time in Columbia, South Carolina, Woita spent two seasons at Kansas City Kansas Community College. He was very productive there, hitting .427 with 13 doubles, 11 homers and 65 RBI in 2024 despite missing 21 games due to a hamate injury.

Woita is the fourth transfer portal addition for the Tigers this offseason, joining former Camdenton standout Kam Durnin (Wichita State), Jamal George (Texas A&M) and Keyler Gonzalez (Nova Southeastern).

Missouri State lands pair of ex-Tigers

Former Mizzou pitchers Brock Lucas and Daniel Wissler have transferred to in-state rival Missouri State, according to Wyatt Wheeler of the Springfield News-Leader. Lucas’ move was reported Friday, while Wissler’s was made public Saturday.

Lucas, a right-hander, made 22 appearances during the 2025 season, starting two games and finishing the campaign with an 8.94 ERA. During his freshman season at Mizzou, the former St. Elizabeth star recorded a 3.63 ERA in 39â…” innings.

Wissler, a left-hander, started two games for the Tigers last season before he was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with an arm injury. He recorded a 4.91 ERA and three strikeouts in 3â…” innings. The former Fort Zumwalt West standout made seven starts and 13 total appearances in 2024, going 3-1 with a 4.38 ERA in 37 innings.

The moves come after Mizzou finished 16-39 overall and 3-27 in Southeastern Conference play last season.
