Milwaukee Brewers home opener: Bob Uecker tribute, national anthem

A look at the pre-game ceremonies that recognized legendary Milwaukee Brewers radio announcer Bob Uecker at American Family Field.

TAMPA – The Milwaukee Brewers open a six-game road trip with the first of three against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Friday night, May 9.

Left-hander José Quintana starts for the Brewers, and will hit a significant career milestone as he passes 2,000 innings pitched. He’ll be countered by right-hander Zack Littell (2-5, 4.61).

The Brewers also made several roster moves prior to the game, recalling left-hander Bryan Hudson and infielder Andruw Monasterio and designated infielder Vinny Capra for assignment.

Capra, the feel-good story of spring training, went 4 for 54 (.074) with one home run and four runs batted in over 24 games.
