NY Post | Andrew Crane: Marcus Stroman was activated from the IL and made his first start since early April, continuing a long saga of popping in and out of the rotation plans this year. He’s reclaimed the fifth starter spot for now, but challengers are on the horizon with Ryan Yarbrough and Luis Gil both on the mend. He needed a solid outing to give him a shot, and five innings of three-hit, one run ball with his only mistake coming on a solo homer is a pretty good start.

FanGraphs | David Laurila: Speaking of the rotation, an unheralded option at the start of the year was Cam Schlittler, but he’s making his way up the depth chart in a hurry. Schlittler owns a 2.18 ERA this season, and has only gotten sharper in the four starts since getting promoted to Triple-A Scranton. Climbing up the organization’s prospect rankings and putting his name forward for a potential shot in the Bronx, Schlittler has taken a big leap by maximizing the “ride-cut” off of his four-seamer over the past few seasons.

NY Daily News | Gary Phillips: The Yankee offense has been mighty inconsistent of late, but one bat leading the charge most days has been Jazz Chisholm Jr. The Yankee third baseman has been on fire since returning from the IL, and the clubhouse is feeding off of his energy, blasting songs from the infielder’s own repertoire when he earns game MVP honors. He’s also been flashing the leather as he gets comfortable at the hot corner, making some highlight reel plays including a few that bailed out Stroman in his start.

NY Post | Christian Arnold: Aaron Judge has been going through his own cold streak through this tough stretch for the Yankees, but he broke out for a pair of homers on Sunday. The latter of the two brought some schadenfreude along with it, as it came off of Athletics reliever Tyler Ferguson. Ferguson, a Fresno native, commented last season that he wanted to strike Judge out, but when push came to shove Judge got the better of him and Ferguson tipped his cap in the postgame, calling him the “best hitter in the league.”
