CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Two Reds prospects were selected to the National League roster for the 2025 All-Star Futures Game that will be played at 4 p.m. on July 12 at Truist Park in Atlanta.
The two Reds prospects selected for the game are third baseman Sal Stewart and catcher Alfredo Duno.
The 21-year-old Stewart was taken by the Reds in the first round of the 2022 draft with the No. 32 overall pick. This season at Class AA Chattanooga he has a slash line of .327/.390/.498 with 18 doubles, nine homers, 43 RBI and 48 runs scored in 71 games.
The 19-year-old Duno was signed as an international free agent on Jan. 15, 2023. This season at Class A Daytona he has a slash line of 269/.422/.453 with 16 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 44 RBI and 42 runs scored in 64 games. He leads the Florida State League in RBI and walks (55), and is second in on-base percentage. He currently sports a 28-game on-base streak dating back to May 23, which is tied for the second-longest in Daytona team history.
Of the 50 players selected (25 in each league), 31 find themselves on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects list, including nine of the top 22.
Stewart is the No. 62 ranked prospect, while Duno is not ranked in the top 100.
