MILWAUKEE (WLUK) — A date has been set for John Axford’s induction into the Milwaukee Brewers Wall of Honor.
Axford will be inducted Aug. 23. He will be honored with a video and a ceremonial first pitch before that night’s Brewers game against the San Francisco Giants.
Axford pitched for the Brewers from 2009-13 and again in 2021. He was the closer of the 2011 team that won the National League Central Division championship. That year, he set team records by converting 46 total saves and 43 in a row. His 49 consecutive saves over the 2011 and 2012 seasons is the sixth-longest in Major League Baseball history.
The Brewers Wall of Honor, located at American Family Field, recognizes players, coaches and executives who meet a set of criteria based on service to the organization and career accomplishments.
