FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) – The Fort Wayne TinCaps will have a representative in the MLB All-Star Futures Game for the fourth year in a row.

Padres top prospect Leo De Vries is headlining the list of minor leaguers who will take part in the minor league all-star showcase on July 12 in Atlanta.

De Vries got out to a hot start with the TinCaps, earning a pair of Midwest League Player of the Week honors en route to the league’s Player of the Month award in April.

The teen shortstop saw his prospect ranking climb to No. 3 overall in the MLB Pipeline rankings.

He is the highest-ranked prospect to be selected to the Futures Game this season.

De Vries is one of 12 selected players to have experience in the Midwest league this season.

His selection marks the fourth consecutive season in which a TinCaps player represents his club in the Futures Game, following Ethan Salas (2024), Jackson Merrill (2023) and Robert Hassell III (2022).

De Vries is batting .243 with a .357 OBP, with 5 home runs as part of 21 XBH, also swiping six bases.

The 2025 All-Star Futures Game will take place at Truist Park in Atlanta at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12.
