Florida baseball players are participating in various summer leagues after a 39-22 season ending with a loss to East Carolina in the NCAA Regionals.Pitchers Liam Peterson and Aidian King are at the USA Collegiate National Team Training Camp.Four other players participated in the MLB Draft combine.Numerous Gators are playing in summer leagues such as the Cape Cod League, Coastal Plain League, Northwoods League, and Valley League.
Returning Florida baseball players are eager to put in the work following a disappointing end to the 2025 season.
The Florida Gators finished the year 39-22 with a loss to East Carolina in the Conway. S.C., Regional on June 1, falling short of extending their College World Series streak to three straight years. UF started the year 1-11 in SEC play but rallied back to win 14 of its final 18 conference games to make its 17th straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
Florida pitchers Liam Peterson and Aidian King are taking part in the USA Collegiate National Team Training Camp in Cary, N.C., this week. Peterson, a rising junior, went 8-4 with a 4.28 ERA this past season while King, a rising sophomore, went 7-2 with a 2.58 ERA.
Four more Florida baseball players ― infielder Colby Shelton, catcher Brody Donay, right-handed pitcher Jake Clemente and left-handed pitcher Pierce Coppola ― took part in the MLB Draft combine earlier this month.
