Former Georgia Southern pitcher Hayden Harris has been named to the National League roster for the 2025 MLB All-Star Futures Game, Major League Baseball announced Monday.The Augusta, Georgia, native and current Triple-A Gwinnett reliever has turned heads this season with a 0.61 ERA over 29 2/3 innings across Double-A and Triple-A. Since being promoted to Gwinnett on June 10, Harris has not allowed a run in six appearances. He’s held opponents to a .150 batting average while striking out seven.Harris, 26, was signed by the Atlanta Braves as a non-drafted free agent in 2022 after promoting himself to scouts via LinkedIn. He also spent time with the Savannah Bananas before joining the Braves’ system. At the time, the Bananas were still part of the collegiate wooden bat Coastal Plain League.This spring, Harris started for the Braves in the Spring Breakout game against the Tigers’ top prospects and made two appearances as a non-roster invitee in MLB Spring Training.MLB Pipeline currently ranks Harris as the Braves’ No. 29 prospect. Over his minor league career, he’s 13-8 with a 3.50 ERA and eight saves in 111 games across five levels.Harris will represent Gwinnett in the Futures Game alongside Stripers manager Kanekoa Texeira, who will serve as third base coach for the NL squad.The Futures Game is set for Saturday, July 12, at 4 p.m. at Truist Park in Atlanta.
