Major League Baseball announced the rosters for the All-Star Futures Game Monday and two Cubs, Owen Caissie and Jaxon Wiggins, will represent the team in this annual contest.

Through Sunday, Caissie is batting .263/.372/.504 for the Triple-A Iowa Cubs, with 18 doubles and 12 home runs in 65 games. Caissie, who turns 23 next week, has played mostly right field for the I-Cubs this year.

Wiggins has made 13 appearances (12 starts) combined this year between High-A South Bend and Double-A Knoxville. He has a 2.09 ERA, 0.994 WHIP and 74 strikeouts in 60⅓ innings. It’s entirely possible Wiggins could be promoted to Iowa sometime later this year.

Major League Baseball, in conjunction with MLB Pipeline, Baseball America and the 30 Major League Clubs, selected the 25 players named to each team. Each Major League organization is represented and players from all player development leagues were eligible to be selected.

The Futures Game will be played at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12 at Truist Park in Atlanta. It will be broadcast live on MLB Network and simulcast on MLB.TV, MLB.com and in the MLB App with Melanie Newman (play-by-play), Yonder Alonso (analyst), Jonathan Mayo (analyst) and Sande Charles (reporter).
