BROOKVILLE — A trio of pitchers combined for a no-hitter as the Brookville Junior Little League All-Star baseball team advanced in the District 10 losers’ bracket with a 15-0 seven-inning win over Warren at McKinley Field Tuesday.

Moving on to another elimination game Thursday also at home, Brookville faces St. Marys with the winner meeting the loser of the Elk County at DuBois winners’ bracket final also on Thursday next Monday.

The no-hit trio was Ethan Lauer, Landon Smith and Gavin Mills, who combined to strike out 11 and walk two.

Lauer went the first three innings and struck out four while walking one. Smith whiffed four in his two innings with one walk and Mills struck out three in two innings. Brookville committed just one error in the sixth inning, so just three Warren batters reached base.

On the other side, Brookville, the visiting team, led 9-0 before scoring six runs in the top of the seventh. It opened with three runs in the first, two in the third and three in the fifth inning.

Brookville finished with 10 hits, worked two Warren pitchers for four walks and two hit batters while Warren also committed eight errors, with one in all but one inning, leading to seven unearned runs.

Kabe Kaltenbach led the Brookville hit parade, going 3-for-4 with three singles, four runs batted in and three runs scored. Mills singled twice and scored two runs while knocking in two. Connor Lewis singled twice.

Kaltenbach and Calin Carberry singled in runs in the three-run first while Kaltenbach and BrantLee Burney singled in runs in the fifth.

In the seventh, Warren’s four errors helped lead to four unearned runs as Mills singled in a run.
