
The Ahnapee Trailblazers trailed by seven runs after five innings Tuesday when their comeback came up short in a 7-5 American Legion baseball loss at Bonduel.
The Trailblazers scored all five of their runs in the top of the sixth when Steven Prescott doubled, scoring a run, Ethan Kratcha doubled, scoring two runs, Rylan Ruenger singled, scoring a run, and Jonah Dahms hit into a fielder’s choice that scored a run.
Ahanpee’s six hits were recorded by six different players with Prescott, Bo Tanck, Jacob Massey, Ruenger, Kratcha and Jack Jeanquart each collecting one hit for Trailblazers.
Two Bonduel players accounted for half of the team’s 10 hits with three from Cade Johnson and two from Karson Stoss.
Ruenger started on the mound for Ahnapee and took the loss. In 4 2/3 innings, he allowed seven runs on seven hits with four walks. Kratcha pitched the final 1 1/3 innings, giving up three hits and striking out one.Â
Beckett Hartlaben pitched the first 5 1/3 innings for Bonduel and recorded the victory, allowing four runs on four hits with two walks while striking out six.
Ahnapee is scheduled to return to action July 10 at 7 pm when the Trailblazers host the Green Bay Hornets at Sturgeon Bay’s Memorial Field.
