LOS ANGELES (KLTV) – Former Mount Pleasant Tiger Michael Kopech is headed back to the injured list for the second time this season, this time with right knee inflammation, according to ESPN.
The right-hander is one of 12 Dodgers pitchers on the IL.
According to ESPN, Kopech received a cortisone injection for his knee and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the team was “hopeful” that Kopech’s stint on the IL would be a short one.
Kopech started the season on the IL and made his season debut on June 8. The 29-year old pitched seven innings, allowing no runs, while striking out eight.
The Dodgers are 55-32 and currently sit in first place in the NL West.
