The Northern Tier League has announced their 2024-25 Baseball All-Star teams with NP-Mansfield’s Alex Davis being named the Player of the Year, Cowanesque Valley’s coaching staff being named Staff of the Year and Wellsboro’s Gabe Cuneo garnering Newcomer of the Year honors for the 2025 season.
Davis headlines the area all-stars with being named the NTL Player of the Year, with the All-State baseball player putting together a dominant season despite fighting through injuries.
He posted a batting average of 0.516, collected 33 hits, 34 RBIs, scored 37 runs, had seven doubles and four home runs with an on-base percentage of 0.535 with a 0.715 SLGG% and a 1.240 OPS and was a key factor in the Tigers finishing the 2025 season with 12-7 record and a spot in the District 4 Class AAA Playoffs.
He was joined by senior Cooper Shaw as a First Team selection, with Shaw posting a batting average of 0.449, 31 hits, 26 RBIs, eight doubles and three homers while scoring 30 times.
On the Second Team, a trio of NP-Mansfield players got the nod with Andy Hermansen, Jason Harer and Easton Pequignot all getting the nod for their performance this past season.
CV was recognized for capturing their first ever District 4 Class A Title and were named the Coaching Staff of the Year while also landing four players on the All-Star team.
Leading the way was a duo of First Team selections, with Loagan Stickler and Aryen Morgan both being recognized.
Stickler, the lone senior of the CV roster, posted an impressive year and batted 0.453, recorded 29 hits, 25 RBIs, seven doubles, two triples and three homers while scoring 24 times.
Morgan was the ace for the CV pitching staff, and was also effective as a batter where he has an average of 0.397, had 23 hits and 13 RBIs all while tossing a team-best 37 innings with a 1.12 ERA and a 6-1 record.
Both Dave Hess and Lucas Hamilton were recognized as Second Team selections for the Indians.
Wellsboro had three selections on the All-Star team while also boasting the Rookie of the Year in Gabe Cuneo.
Cuneo recorded an average of 0.314, added 15 hits and 11 RBIs in his freshman season.
He was joined by one First Team selection in Marek Mascho, who finished his season with a 0.400 average, 28 hits, 27 runs scored and 23 RBIs while also adding three wins on the mound for the Hornets.
Wellsboro’s Coen Tennis and Max Mascho both were selected to the Second Team as well for the Hornets.
Williamson had one player land on the 2025 NTL All-Star team, with Sawyer Carleton getting the nod on the Second Team for leading the Warriors with a 0.364 batting average, 12 hits, 12 RBIs and was the top pitcher for the Warriors with three wins on the mound.
