ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A special fireworks celebration will ring in America’s birthday at the Friday night Braves game against the Orioles, which will air live on Peachtree TV.
They’re going to fit about a 20-minute show into eight minutes, song and time coordinated.
Atlanta News First got an exclusive look at those fireworks being unloaded and some of them being set up.
BRAVES-ORIOLES PREVIEW: Atlanta’s rotation in limbo as All-Star break nears
Friday night’s show will be so complicated; the plans for it started months ago.
“Tonight, you’re going to see a parachuter come in with the American flag,” Scott Cunningham, the Atlanta Braves vice president of broadcasting & fan experience. “You’re going to see the Sons of the American Revolution fire a 13-gun salute. We have a giant American flag in the shape of a country that’s going to be coming out. All that takes a lot of coordination, planning, and booking. All that began back in March.
Cunningham said the usual scenarios will apply.
The best place to watch the fireworks will be from the right field foul pole to home plate.
Once the game is over, everyone will be allowed to shuffle there.
“It is probably about a 15-20 minute program, and we cram it into eight minutes,” Cunningham said.
The Atlanta Braves will open a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night, marking the eighth regular season game broadcast live on Gray Media in 2025.
The Braves (39-47) are coming off a series loss to the Los Angeles Angels and have been shut out three times in their past seven games. Jurickson Profar, two games back from his 80-game PED suspension, has made his presence felt offensively and prevented the team from being shut out once again on Thursday.
First pitch is at 7:15 p.m.
