The Mets announced several roster moves on the pitching side ahead of Saturday’s matchup with the Yankees.
Zach Pop was signed to a one-year, major-league contract by the Mets. Pop made four appearances with the Mariners this season and pitched to a 13.50 ERA in 5 1/3 innings. He spent the previous four seasons with the Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays.

The native Canadian features a three pitch mix: A sinker, slider, and cutter. He’s a groundball pitcher, has a career 54.2 groundball percentage in his career.
The other two moves also came from the bullpen. Austin Warren was optioned to Triple-A and Tyler Zuber was designated for assignment.
Warren pitched 1 2/3 innings Friday for the Mets in their 6-5 win over the Yankees. He allowed one earned run, a homer to Jasson Domínguez. Warren holds a 1.80 ERA and 1.2000 WHIP in five innings this season with the Mets.
Meanwhile, Zuber was DFA’d after making one appearance for the Mets June 22 against the Phillies. Zuber was acquired last season from the Rays for Paul Gervase, but never record an outing for the OMG Mets. Zuber recorded a 6.11 ERA in 28 innings this season for Syracuse.
