CHENEY, Wash — The Lewis-Clark Cubs defeated the Crew 16U Black 8-5 and routed the Whatcom Post 16-1 in American Legion baseball action on Saturday.
Against Crew 16U Black of Spokane, Lewis-Clark’s Grady Peterson led the team with three hits, including a triple.
Slater Kuther had two hits and two RBI for the Cubs. Carson Henson and Kendrix Jones each had a single and one RBI apiece.
Against Whatcom Post of Bellingham, Wash., the Cubs won due to the mercy rule.
Peterson pitched 4 2/3 innings, and fanned three while giving up one run on one hit. Cody Blackwell closed out the game in 1 1/3 innings and did not allow a run on just two hits.
Peterson also collected two doubles and two RBI.
Caddis Sevy had three hits and three RBI to lead the Cubs (22-9). Jaxon Holthaus had one hit and added three RBI.
