Rangers 4, Padres 3

The RANGERS (+110) are worth a look behind Leiter, as the Padres try to figure out a pitching plan for Sunday’s interleague series finale.

The Padres bullpen has a 3.33 ERA this season, so if San Diego intends on a bullpen game, bettors are just fine with that. However, the Rangers are just a tick better with a 3.32 ERA, and their bullpen can hold up just as well.

AVOID.

The Rangers +1.5 (-220) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward, if you need some insurance and you just cannot bring yourself to take Texas straight up.

UNDER 8.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at best.

We go low on the total here, again, because of those stellar bullpen ERAs. These are a couple of the best ‘pens in the game. The Rangers have averaged 4.5 runs per game (RPG) in this series, while the Padres have scored 3.5 RPG. It might be close, but go low.

Texas has allowed just 9 total runs in the past 4 games, while San Diego has been a little more giving lately. But, the Padres offense is good for just 16 runs in the past 6 games, or 2.7 RPG. The Under is 4-2 in that span.
