KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Major League Baseball announced that shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and pitcher Kris Bubic will play in the 2025 All-Star Game later this month.
This is Witt Jr.’s second straight All-Star Game appearance, after he was elected by the players last season. He is only the second Royals shortstop to be named an All-Star more than once. The only other player is three-time All-Star Fred Patek, who appeared in MLB All-Star games in 1972, 1976 and 1978.

Witt Jr. entered today, July 6, with 13 Outs Above Average on defense. This is 2nd in the American League at all positions.
Bubic, 27, is an All-Star for the first time this season. Earlier this year, Bubic was named the American League Pitcher of the Month in May.

Bubic is in his first full season since returning from his 2023 Tommy John Surgery. He was reinstated from the Injured List one year ago today, July 6.
This year’s All-Star game will be held at Truist Park on Tuesday, July 15 at 7 p.m. CT.
