It’s another special edition of the Coloradoan’s Athlete of the Week series, partnering with Blue Federal Credit Union to honor the top local sports stars.

But this week’s poll (and several more throughout the summer) will feature former high school athletes who are doing big things at the collegiate level.

This week’s poll is to vote for the athlete who played high school baseball in the Fort Collins-area had the best collegiate baseball season.

Local baseball programs have sent dozens of players to the college ranks in recent years, with several having standout seasons this past year. That included one who was part of a literal perfect season, several who stood out at the Division I level and more who made quick impacts in the junior college ranks.

Voting will continue through July 10 at 11:59 p.m., with the winner announced at coloradoan.com/sports on July 11.
