ALTON, Ill. — Owen Nowak went 2-for-5 with a double and a home run, scored two runs and drove in four to lead the Burlington Bees to a 9-4 win over the Alton River Dragons on Sunday at Lloyd Hopkins Field.

The Bees jumped out to an 8-0 lead after three innings and coasted to the Prospect League victory.

Danny Harris picked up the win. Imn six innings, he allowed seven hits and three earned runs and struck out two.

Kyle Smith, Marshall Robinson and Braeden Sunken each pitched an inning in relief.

New London High School graduate Kooper Schulte went 3-for-4 amd scored two runs.

Cole Yearsley went 3-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs amd Corey Boyette was 2-for-4, scored a run and drove in a run.

Burlington (4-4 second half) next plays on Wednesday at Alton.

The Bees return home for a 6:30 p.m. game Saturday against Clinton at Community Field.

NOTES: Yearsely is was named the Week 6 Stinger Bats Hitter of the Week.

The left-handed Yearsley went 7-for-13 for the week. He scored six times, while working five walks and hitting for 4 RBI. He finished with a .538 average and .667 on-base percentage.
