The Pullman Posse defeated the Whitman County Cougars 7-1 for the Bill Skelton Memorial Tournament championship in American Legion baseball action on Sunday at Harris Field in Lewiston.
Posse pitcher Rocky Karino-Evans threw four innings and fanned four while holding the Cougars (5-18) to one run through his tenure, earning credit for the win in the process. Reliever Turner Deeds threw three innings while striking out four and allowing no runs on two hits.
Julian Dienno had a two-RBI double in the bottom of the first to spark the Posse (11-16). Max Hain had two hits and one RBI for Pullman.
Whitman County pitcher Burke Jewell threw a complete game in six innings and fanned eight while allowing seven runs (three earned) on four hits.

Palouse Patriots 14-10, Summerhawks 4-9
COLFAX — The Palouse Patriots conquered the Summerhawks of Cheney, Wash. in both games of a doubleheader on Monday.
In Game 1, Carson Forar had three hits, including two doubles, and led the Patriots with four RBI. Aslan Burt, James Halverson and Jake Melhus added another two RBI apiece.
Palouse (20-12) won in the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.
