Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Baltimore Orioles fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

A year ago, the Orioles had two prodigious home run hitters. Anthony Santander led the way with 44 homers as a platform for his free agent campaign. Gunnar Henderson surged to a new career best of 37 in his second full season as a big leaguer. We could all take a guess that Santander would not be back to try to lead the team for another season. (He and Henderson tied with 28 in 2023.) Without Santander, Henderson seemed like a slam dunk to lead the team this year.

89 games into the 2025 Orioles season, it’s not playing out that way. Henderson is one of five Orioles in the double digits so far with 10, trailing the current leader, Cedric Mullins, by three homers. Unfortunately for the O’s hopes of going somewhere good this season, Mullins’s 13 homers is nothing special compared to the rest of the league. He is not even in the top 25 among American League batters. Santander, if you were wondering, has just six homers for Toronto.

For this week’s survey, I’m wondering who is going to end up as the home run leader for the Orioles this season. I think you could make a case for as many as seven batters based on what’s currently happening.

Note that this is not the same question as asking which of these players will have the most home runs at season’s end. Because of where the Orioles are in the standings, it’s a certainty that they will be exploring trades of some of their veteran players and I think it’s probable that at least one deal will be completed.

That could mean that neither Mullins nor Ryan O’Hearn will finish the season with the team, with any homers they hit from a trade date onwards counting for somebody else. I think even Ramón Laureano, who has ten home runs so far, could end up as a trade candidate as well, if there’s teams that find his 2025 performance plus his $6.5 million club option to be an attractive addition.

Two Orioles who haven’t even managed double digits yet could end up in this picture if they are able to stay on the field and hit home runs at something close to their current pace. Jordan Westburg has nine homers in only 38 games, while Colton Cowser has homered eight times in just 31 games.
