The Toronto Blue Jays are going to be busy at the trade deadline which has fans coming up with all sorts of trade proposal including one which would land Minnesota Twins pitcher Joe Ryan.
Blue Jays trade proposal to land Twins pitcher Joe Ryan
Fans have always tried to give their input online on what they believe their teams should do when it comes to trade which is exactly what has been going on with the Blue Jays as a big trade deadline approaches.
A fan posted a trade proposal online that has been going viral which would see Twins pitcher Joe Ryan and Louis Varland head to Toronto in exchange for Trey Yesavage, Orelvis Martinez, RJ Schreck, Angel Bastardo and Jonatan Clase.
Would you part with top prospect Trey Yesavage for 3 Years of Joe Ryan? #BlueJays #MLB
This trade would actually make some kind of sense if Toronto could find some way to not part ways with Yesavage as he is arguably their biggest prospect even if Ryan would be coming back the other way.
While Atkins is certainly not looking online for fans trade proposal to get ideas for the deadline, trying to make a big splash by using some of the teams top prospect is not a terrible idea.
The Blue Jays are in a win now setting as they have multiple players on expiring contracts like Bo Bichette that might not be back next year and with the way they are playing, this is the time to go all in.
Atkins and Mark Shapiro also have some pressure heading into the deadline as the two are in the last year of their current contract and they know that if the Blue Jays do not go deep into the playoffs or win it all, they will likely be without a job next year.
Should be interesting to see how the next few weeks play out for the Blue Jays and what their roster will look like on August 1st.
