Torrington’s Mac Hibben will continue playing baseball in college after recently signing with the University of Northern Colorado. Hibben will be a left-handed pitcher for the Bears. Hibben is a two-time first-team all-conference choice with the Torrington Tigers in Wyoming American Legion baseball over the past two seasons. He was a first-team all-state selection in 2024 after being a second-team all-state choice in 2023.
So far in 2025, Hibben has a .538 batting average through 37 games. His on-base percentage is .604. He has an OPS of 1.570 and a slugging percentage of .966. Hibben has 63 hits this year. That includes 17 doubles, six triples, and seven home runs. He has 35 RBIs and 44 runs scored. Hibben has also drawn 17 walks, struck out only nine times, and stolen 20 bases. On the mound, Mac is at 54.2 innings pitched. He sports a 6-2 record with one save and a 1.537 earned run average. Hibben has held opponents to a .135 batting average. In 16 appearances with 10 starts, he has allowed 23 runs on 26 hits. Hibben has walked 40 batters and struck out 113. Torrington is 22-19 entering the last week of the regular season.
Last year, as a first-team all-state pick, Hibben went 11-0 as a pitcher with two saves and a 2.813 ERA. He threw 74.2 innings across 18 appearances with 13 starts. Hibben allowed 56 hits with 37 walks and 118 strikeouts. At the plate in 2024, Hibben had 84 hits and a .488 batting average. He drove in 75 runs, scored 51 times, and stole 23 bases. His efforts helped the Tigers to a 38-22 overall record. They went 1-2 at the Single-A State Tournament.
In the 2023 season, Hibben was 7-2 on the mound with two saves and a 2.373 ERA. He threw 59 innings, allowed 37 hits, walked 30 batters, and struck out 64. He hit .379 with 55 total hits, 37 RBIs, and 38 runs scored. Torrington went 33-16.

Hibben also played football and basketball at Torrington High School. He helped the Trailblazers to the 3A East Regional basketball title and a third-place finish at the 3A boys’ basketball state tournament. Torrington went 13-12 in the 2024-25 season. On the gridiron, Hibben helped THS to a 5-5 record in 2024. Torrington finished third in the 3A East Conference at 3-2. They qualified for the first round of the football playoffs. Hibben made 21 catches at receiver for 420 yards and two TDs. His longest catch was 76 yards. Mac was third on the Blazers’ defense with 108 defensive points.
The University of Northern Colorado is in Greeley, CO. The Bears compete at the NCAA Division I level and are in the Summit League for baseball.
