ESPN’s David Schoenfield asks that very question, because he thinks Cincinnati would have an outside chance of lining up for a trade with the Minnesota Twins to acquire Byron Buxton.

Schoenfield thinks the Reds would offer Rhett Lowder, Chase Petty and Sal Stewart – two right-handed arms and a power-hitting third baseman.

But then he writes, “The Twins would want Chase Burns from the Reds, but that’s probably a nonstarter for Cincinnati.”

Burns is probably too steep a price to pay, but if there’s a compromise to be made, Cincinnati should try and find it.
