The Yankees haven’t won two games in a row since March.

That’s actually not true, but they haven’t won two games in a row since June 27th and 28th. which technically isn’t that long ago but kinda feels like “since March.” The team managed to salvage a game at the end of this weekend’s series with the Mets, and can break that sad streak with another win tonight against the Mariners.

Will Warren will be tasked with the start, looking to rebound after a dreadful, eight-run outing facing the Blue Jays last week. While that game in Toronto was about as ugly as you can get from your starter, his previous four starts saw him notch a 1.96 ERA and 1.69 FIP. He’s varied between impressive and quite bad pretty much all year, so hopefully we get Warren on the upswing tonight.

Logan Gilbert counters for the M’s, perhaps the most talented starter in arguably the AL’s best rotation. An IL stint means that his stuff hasn’t popped quite so red this year as it did last year, but he still features some of the best breaking and offspeed offerings in baseball — to go along with a fourseam that sits 96.

Giancarlo Stanton and Paul Goldschmidt win the daily game of musical chairs, starting at DH and first base respectively. Perhaps most notable, the Yankees have given up the ghost and will be playing Jazz Chisholm Jr. at second for the foreseeable future, with Oswald Peraza getting the start at third.
