In his fifth Major League start, Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Brandon Young had the best inning any arm could want. Young tossed a three up, three down perfect fifth inning on nine pitches for an Immaculate Inning against the New York Mets. Young produced two strikeouts swinging and the final one looking against the Mets.

It was the fifth immaculate inning in O’s franchise history and the first since starting pitcher Kevin Gausman in 2018.

The undrafted pick-up by the Birds in 2020, Young left the game with his best career start despite giving up two runs in the very next inning in the sixth.

He finished with two runs on five hits with zero walks and six strikeouts over 5.1 innings.
