LARCHWOOD and ORANGE CITY, IA (Dakota News Now) -There was a District doubleheader in Larchwood Tuesday night.
In the first game Central Lyon had rallies in the 4th and 5th innings that helped them beat Hinton 6-3.
In the 4th Logan Koob had an RBI single and scored on Brady Kirch’s hit. And in the 5th Jason Huygens and Thomas Herbert had run-scoring hits.
In the 2nd game, the hometown Wildcats of West Lyon jumped all over Lawton-Bronson early and won by the mercy rule 10-0.
Bryson Childress hit one to the wall and West Lyon led 3-0 after 1. And they broke it wide open with 7 more runs in their next at-bat. Easton and Jaxton DeJong were right in the middle of the big inning.
It was a different story in Orange City where Unity Christian got a complete game shutout from Dylan Bosma in a 2-0 win over OABCIG.
Bosma scored the game’s first run on a wild pitch and in the 6th Austin Wieringa brought home an insurance run with an RBI single.
