Last week, I did a UVA Baseball roster update that showed everything looking good, except at catcher, where there was one guy, an incoming freshman.
I know that Chris Pollard is knee-deep in the portal, heading up today, I understand, to the Cape, but in the meantime, he has another catcher, Noah Jouras, a rising senior late of Davidson.
Jouras, as a junior in the 2025 season, hit .319 with a .950 OPS, with seven homers, 28 RBIs, 29 Ks, 44 walks and eight stolen bases.
He was the catcher in 41 games in 2025, with four errors, 12 passed balls and 30 assists, 14 of them punchouts of baserunners trying to steal – though 48 were successful.
This is a start.
The other catcher on the roster, right now, is incoming freshman Thomas O’Connell.
Probably going to need two more to feel good about things.
