MILWAUKEE — I know it’s only July. I know the Brewers’ recent history in October has been disappointing.

All I know is this. Assuming they stay healthy, do you think any team wants to face (in any order) Freddy Peralta, Jacob Misiorowski, Brandon Woodruff and Jose Quintana in a playoff series?

The Brewers’ three-game sweep of the defending World Series Champion Dodgers at American Family Field propelled the Brewers to a season-best 13 games over .500 at 53-40. They’re closing fast behind Craig Counsell’s Cubs in the National League Central Division.

Yes, the Dodgers may not be in peak form. Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts are slumping.

Max Muncy was out for the series and Teoscar Hernandez was used only as a pinch-hitter in the series finale.

And I’m well aware of the injuries the Dodgers have had to navigate to their pitching staff all season long. I’m also aware they started Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Clayton Kershaw and Tyler Glasnow in the three games in Milwaukee.

The Dodgers may have seemed disinterested, but Brewers fans should be very interested in their team.

The Brewers haven’t been to the World Series since 1982 and they’ve never won it. Could this be the year?
