The Toronto Blue Jays are surging, and as we enter the All-Star break, they’ve taken a firm hold of the AL East.

Since May 1st, Toronto has been on fire, winning at over a .600 clip.

And with some underperformance from their division, most notably the Baltimore Orioles, the Boston Red Sox, and the New York Yankees hitting a rough patch since June 1st, Toronto’s taking full advantage and looks like one of the best teams in the American League, sitting only behind the Detroit Tigers and the Houston Astros.

One of the major catalysts for the Blue Jays’ success in the first half has been the play of George Springer.

Springer has had a resurgence in 2025 and played at the MVP caliber level.

He’s having his best season since 2019 and in the month of July has an OPS over 1.300.

With their play in the first half, the Toronto Blue Jays have turned themselves into a true contender in the American League.

And as we go into the second half, they are looked at as a team that could make moves at the trade deadline, most notably to their starting pitching.

And while they have arms like Jose Barrios, Max Scherzer, Chris Bassett, and Kevin Gosman, like many playoff teams out there, they could be looking for additional starting pitching and show teams in the American League they’re forced to be reckoned with.
