GRANDVIEW, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino was giving back to the youth Thursday morning.
Pasquantino was at Grandview High School for the Vinnie Pasquantino Baseball ProCamp on Thursday, teaching kids from grades 1-8 the fundamentals of baseball.
The camp included 150 kids from the Kansas City metro.
“There was no team close, like no major league team, so I never met a major league player until I got into professional baseball,” said Pasquantino of his time growing up in Richmond, Virginia. “Camp was always some of the most fun I had over the summer, so being able to host my own camp is super cool.”

The 27-year-old first baseman shared insight with the young players and participated in drills, a day after the Royals completed a three-game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Pasquantino, who has a .270 average, 15 home runs, and 56 RBI this season for the Royals, will return to action Friday night at 7:10 against the New York Mets for their final series before the All-Star break.
