NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A major update in the ongoing stadium decision saga, this time coming out of North Kansas City.
A Clay County Commissioner from the western district, Jason Withington, says the Royals have contacted them with terms for a possible stadium deal in the Northland.
This is just one more step in the many back-and-forths between the Royals and county officials, so this is far from a done deal. It is, however, a development.
KCTV has reached out to the Royals and is actively contacting other cities to confirm whether counties outside of Clay have received similar terms from the Royals.
Cities that have been named as consideration for a new K include Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas, and Overland Park.
Clay County just received approval for a Sports Authority, paving way for the Northland to bring in a professional team to North Kansas City. Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe is expected to attend a ceremony in celebration of that milestone today, July 11.
Be sure to stick with KCTV as we work to bring the latest news in Stadium Developments as this is a continuously evolving story.
