For the last couple of years, the Baltimore Orioles have been an exciting rejuvenated entertainment for us residents of Baltimore and all of Maryland. But this year so far, a large number of Orioles players have suffered injuries, especially pitchers and catchers, resulting in the team hovering around 10 games below a break-even win-loss record (“5 things we learned about the Orioles through 1st half of 2025 season,” June 28).

The selection of Tony Mansolino as interim manager was an excellent decision by ownership. Not only is he a highly knowledgeable baseball coach, but his management style in the game and in the club house uplifts a team made up of talented but mostly young players who need to be carefully and skillfully encouraged during unusually difficult and unanticipated injuries.

It’s time for us fans to show up at the ballpark, shout out and uplift our team as well. The talent to win a World Series is there and the on-field management is excellent. Ownership has been present at the stadium during game day and making quality decisions. This is a time for us Marylanders to fill the stadium for the team like we did when they were winning.

Come and fill Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Be loud and supportive.
