Watertown Post 17 split a twin bill of baseball with Marshall, Minnesota, on Thursday.

The Arrows jumped on the Mudcats’ pitching early, sending four runs across the plate in the first, and then tacked on two more in the fourth for a 6-2 Game 1 victory. Mitch Olson, Kaden Rylance, and Carter Buisker each had two hits and one RBI. Hayden Ries, Nash Berg, Markus Pitkin, and Jonathan Lake each tallied one hit. Talan Jurgens earned the win on the hill, allowing two runs on three hits in four innings of work.

Marshall racked up 18 hits in a 17-4 Game 2 win over Post 17. The game was called in the fifth inning due to the run rule. Nate Briggs and Treyton Himmerich recorded the only hits for the purple and gold in the contest. Ashton Rabine took the loss on the mound, allowing six runs on seven hits and walking two.

Watertown (28-24, 17-12) will travel to Pierre today for a double-header at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Hyde Stadium.
