MEDIAPOLIS — The Mediapolis High School softball team completed the season sweep against West Burlington-Notre Dame in impressive fashion.

The Bullettes, who beat the Falcons twice in SEI Super Conference South Division play this season, rolled to a 10-2 victory over WB-ND in a Class 3A regional quarterfinal game Thursday at the Mediapolis Athletic Complex.

Mediapolis (15-8) advances to a regional semifinal to face either fourth-ranked Davenport Assumption (22-13) or Camanche (5-19) at 7 p.m. Saturday. The game will be play at St. Vincent Athletic Complex in Davenport if Assumption wins or at Mediapolis if Camanche wins.

Assumption led Camanche, 4-0, after three innings when the game was suspended due to weather. The game was scheduled to resume Friday at Muscatine.

Mediapolis jumped to an 8-0 lead after one inning and never looked back. The Bullettes added single runs in the second and fourth innings.

WB-ND scored its two runs in the third inning.

Avery Bandy and Layne Price each went 2-for-3 for Mediapolis. Bandy had a pair of doubles, while Payton Harris also had a double.

Price drove in three runs and Harris knocked in a pair of runs. Maycie Thornburg and Charlotte Mohr each scored two runs.

Harris picked up the win. In five innings, she scattered six hits, allowed two earned runs, walked two and struck out two.

Orayana Gonzalez, Whitney Snowden, Madelyn Thomas, Lyndsey Kelley, Madalynn Knapp and Tannisyn Christofferson all had singles for the Falcons, who end the season with a 15-21 record.
